<p><i>LIDO has specific flags to indicate whether a field should be used for "Display Only" or "Index Only". This is an interesting idea which we want to consider using for ABCD 3.0 as well.</i></p>

<p>Allow ABCD to express data differently depending on whether it will be ingested by a machine or displayed to a human, as they have different needs. An example would be a persons name being displayed as "<last name>, <first letter of first name>" but indexed as "<first name> <last name>".</p>

<p>Not to be confused with reference to external URIs, as described &lt;p&gt;Verschiedene Daten für Mensch und Maschine, da verschiedene Bedürfnisse. So könnte man für das Feld einer Kategorie als „index only“ die Kürzel oder Nummern eines kontrollierten Vokabulars eintragen, für „display“ aber die Kategoriebeschreibung in ticket #290.</p> Englisch. So ist sichergestellt, dass sich das leicht indexieren lässt, Portalnutzern aber kryptische Kürzel erspart bleiben und stattdessen Klartext sehen.&lt;/p&gt;
